You've probably already heard about the power of rituals.
They anchor our practice in time and space, adding an almost sacred dimension to our daily activities.
Well, this magic can also be integrated into your introspective writing experience in French, helping you become more and more consistent in your writing and let go of perfectionism along the way.
How to create your own ritual
Choose a Sacred Moment: Dedicate a specific time of day to your French writing. Whether it's at sunrise, during your lunch break, or before bed, make this moment a sacred appointment where no one will disturb you. A pleasant moment between you and yourself.
Set the Ambiance: Set the mood. Light a candle, listen to soft instrumental music (you can try my playlist here), and find a comfortable and inspiring place. I particularly like to sit in front of a window, with a small blanket and a cup of tea or coffee.
Express Your Gratitude: Before you start writing, take a moment to express your gratitude. Thank life for the little joys of the day, the treasures you've received from learning about life, or simply the fact that you have this precious time for yourself.
Be Present: Dive into the present moment. Let your thoughts flow freely on paper. Don't worry about perfect grammar, focus on authentic expression.
Let Your Creativity Speak: For the past year, I've been using stickers and washi tape to decorate my journal, and it makes my introspective moments even more special. Why not add a dose of creativity to your introspection? You can draw, stick stickers, use stamps, or add images you find in magazines... The possibilities are endless, and this dimension intensifies the sacred aspect of your writing ritual.
Close with Positivity: When you finish your session, end on a positive note. Perhaps you can note something that made you smile, a French word you loved, or something that makes you proud.
Share Your Ritual: If you wish, share a photo of a moment from your ritual with the Journal in French Club community, I'm sure it will be very inspiring!
I hope this tip will add a special dimension to your introspective writing practice in French. May each session become a moment of magic and deep connection with the language.
Enjoy your writing time and see you soon for another magical tip!
